Thank you for writing about “Toby” the turtle. I am 69 years old. When I was 4 I rode on a tortoise in Tarpon Springs FL. Everyone is dead who might remember. No one to ask. I was beginning to think my memory was a figment of my imagination. I thought it was a sea turtle but someone pointed out to me that it would hav run away with the children. There were about four turtles with saddles. I contacted the chamber in Tarpon Springs and there is no record of it.
